The Writer's Block publishes works from any genre, including poetry, short story, essay, artistic commentary, short drama, or even one you made up yourself! The only exceptions are novellas and novels, because not only is space limited, but we also have short attention spans.
If your work appears in one of our quarterly issues, we will mail you a copy so you can impress your friends. Or proudly hang it on the refrigerator with one of those fruit magnets.
But before you can be published in The Writer's Block and have your work immortalized on any kitchen appliance, we need you to submit your work!
And now submitting to The Writer's Block just got easier! No more messy handwriting! No more licking envelopes! Save your ink cartridge! Now you can send us your material online!
Carefully read the submission guidelines below and you'll be on your way to artistic greatness!
(Well it's a start).
The Writer's Block Guidelines:
1. All submissions
must include the following:
--Name or pseudonym
--Mailing address
--Age is required, but will not be printed. Since we receive writings from
people of all ages, providing yours will help us make better judgment calls
when publishing a minor's works. In the event a minor's work is published
in The Writer's Block, we will mail his or her issue to the author's parents.
We do not believe in editing artistic expression; however, we do believe parents
have the right to edit for their children.
2. We only accept unpublished material.
3. We reserve the right to refuse publication, even though we welcome material on all subjects in any style.
4. Up to three works can be submitted at one time.
5. Due to limited space available, we can only accept prose with a word count of 2,500 or less.
6. Submissions will not be returned, so be sure to keep a copy for yourself!
7. Mailed submissions must be typed.

WE DO NOT CRITIQUE SUBMISSIONS!
